Norwegian Wood
Today marks the 49th anniversary of Norwegian Wood, a single from The Beatles which was released on 3 December 1965 (through their sixth album, Rubber Soul). The song was written by John Lennon and famous for being one of the very first pop song to feature sitar in its arrangement (performed by George Harrison).
The standard Japanese translation of the song's title is Noruwei no Mori and borrowed by novelist Haruki Murakami for the title of his 1987 novel. A film adaptation of the same name was released in 2010 with music scoring composed by Jonny Greenwood of British rock band, Radiohead.
